BCT has earned a reputation in chemical process technology through the BUSS loop reactor. The earliest loop reactors were invented and industrially used by BCT in the 1950s, and now more than 400 industrialized loop reactors are operating worldwide. BCT has been striving to improve the technology and expertise of loop systems.
The loop reaction system has a simple structure, consisting of a high-pressure reactor, loop circulation pump, external heat exchanger, and mixer (Venturi ejector). During the loop reaction process, the circulation pump provides energy to form a high-speed mobile phase. In Venturi, the high-speed mobile phase draws in other phases, achieving close contact and reaction. After injection, intense stirring is continued, with a mass transfer coefficient dozens of times higher than that of traditional bubble towers and stirring kettles. The external heat exchanger has high heat transfer efficiency. The entire reaction system has excellent mass and heat transfer performance, no rotating stirring components, and excellent sealing. In gas-liquid and gas-liquid-solid multiphase reactions, it offers multiple advantages over other reactors.
Preferred reaction types:
• Ethoxylation
• Alkylation
• Carbonylation
• Chlorination
• Dehydrogenation
• Aldehyde hydrogenation
